Our society is evolving, and so is fashion. Designers are bubbling with ingenuity: they mix materials, break codes and create time-proof pieces. Focus on some of our own innovations!
Fashion that is more respectful of the planet
The climate emergency has become the number one concern of our time. Faced with this fact, many designers are reacting by selecting raw materials that are more respectful of the planet and by reducing the transportation of goods. They create outfits with fabrics and materials available near their workshop. It is in this spirit that Maroussia Dubois selects fabrics coming from the end of series of great European fashion houses. These high quality fabrics can then begin a second life, an upcycling-chic that gives birth to unique models.
Modular and timeless clothes
Buying clothes and not being able to wear them because they are out of fashion is unfortunately a reality. Our closets are in a crisis of indigestion and guilt overwhelms us.
But that’s without counting on the timeless pieces that are a staple in our wardrobe. They offer infinite possibilities and can easily be mixed with strong pieces. Janue has made this the guiding principle of its collections: timeless, elegant and pure. Simplicity has never been so stylish.
Other designers, like Mon col Anvers, offer pieces that are infinitely adaptable. A customizable element like the collar of a shirt and it is your whole outfit that is renewed. A real revolution for looks that are increasingly adapted to everyday changes. Less clothes and more combinations of looks.
The longevity of a garment is also measured by the quality of the materials used. Many Belgian designers have made this a priority. For Charline Jasson, the objective is also to provide comfort to women who wear her creations. We therefore return to the essentials: noble, quality fabrics that are pleasant to wear. Take, for example, Janue’s long silk dresses, Maroussia Dubois’ printed jackets or Dare!Reda’s masculine and silky ensembles.
Mixing materials and styles
For Dare!Reda, it’s time to dare. The young designer from Liège doesn’t hesitate to bring together essential pieces from the traditional Maghrebian wardrobe and those from the streetwear universe. This astonishing marriage of genres gives singular, original and elegant outfits. Dare Reda manages to express all his personality and his experience through his creations.
Mixing pieces and styles is also the objective of Maroussia Dubois. The designer is inspired by the Japanese universe and draws from it prints with unusual materials.
More than ever, our clothes move and reflect our moods. Charline Jasson’s work with colors and lines highlights the possibilities and nuances of our existence.
Adapting, differentiating and innovating are the objectives of these Belgian designers. A fashion in phase with the complexity of our world.
What do you think of these new trends? Do you buy responsibly? Do you mix styles and materials? Do you wear timeless pieces?
